If you’ve decided to buld a new home in Frisco, or purchase one that’s under construction,  you will likely have the opportunity to select the design features – fixtures, flooring, cabinetry, lighting, hardware, paint, countertops and more. So much to think about and so many choices can be overwhelming, so your best bet is to go in with a plan. Here’s how:

• First, become familiar with the features that are offered by your homebuilder.  From those, create a must-have and nice-to-have list. Think about the features you “can’t live without” and the items you’d like to have and also those that really aren’t that important to you and your family. Your builder’s sales and design center staff will help you determine what’s realistic considering your home and budget.

• Know your budget. While some design features are included in the base price of your new home in Frisco, TX, others are not. Decide in advance how much you are willing to spend on design features and factor this in when you pre-qualify for a home mortgage

• Think about your lifestyle room by room. Do you like to entertain? Are you a gourmet cook? Will you be using one of the bedrooms as an office? Do you have children and/or pets? All of these lifestyle choices can influence a wide range of design details.

• Bring fabric swatches, paint chips, style preferences and photos of your furniture. Show the design center staff exactly what you like and what furnishings you’ll be moving into your new home in Frisco, TX so they can guide you to the best choices for you.

Finally, keep in mind that design center staffers are very accustomed to this process, and will be able to guide you effectively and efficiently through the process.  They will be instrumental in making your selections experience a fun and energizing part of your new home purchase.  The goal of everyone on your builder’s team will be to help make all steps in your new-home buying journey a pleasure.
