Be Fit Frisco Is a Way of Life

Thanksgiving image 1There are so many reasons to love Frisco—top-notch schools, beautiful neighborhoods, a vibrant arts and culture scene—but one of the best is the city’s commitment to a healthy lifestyle.  The Be Fit Frisco initiative is dedicated to providing fitness opportunities and overall wellness for all Frisco citizens.  Through state-of-the-art athletic facilities, stellar youth and adult programs, and community-wide health events, the City of Frisco has made fitness a foundation of the city—and is dedicated to keeping families active and healthy.  Here are some upcoming events for families looking to join in on the Be Fit Frisco movement.

Belay! Rock Climbing Camp.  November 25th through November 27th.  Kids—ages 6-14—will learn all the climbing basics—gear lingo, techniques and safety—at this Frisco Parks and Rec camp.  Canyons Rock Climbing provides all the appropriate gear so just show up dressed comfortably and prepared to climb—under direct supervision of an experienced instructor.   Register through the Frisco Athletic  Center.

North Texas Turkey Trot.  November 28th.  Forest Park Medical Center.  This favorite Thanksgiving Day event offers a Miracle Mile for kids, and a 5K and 10K trot.  Festivities begin at 8AM with race day registration available starting at 6:30AM.  From grandparents to tots—get the whole family moving!

Frosty 5K and Merry Mile. Saturday, December 14th.  Simpson Plaza at City Hall.  This renowned event is back for its eighth year!  Celebrate the joy of the season—and healthy living.  The Merry Mile begins at 8AM, with the 5K Race starting at 8:30AM.  Race day registration and packet pick-up opens at 7AM.
